The Darryl Stingley Youth Foundation

Mission Statement
The Purpose of the Darryl Stingley Youth Foundation is to establish and Early Prevention Program. It will attempt to reach children 18 years of age and under before they reach college. The main objective is to influence, change and/or alter the children’s development to young adults, by providing healthy activities they can participate in as an alternative to their environmental influences, such as gangs, drugs, alcohol, etc. The organization hopes to change the mind set of it’s participants by helping to create self-respect and self-esteem, with the hope that later on in life the children will be able to make decisions based on a foundation of self-respect and self-discipline. We want to give the child a legitimate chance of a future he or she deserves, without cheating themselves with self-destruction. Also, the DSYF is dedicated to the pursuit of safety in sports at every level. It is the goal of the foundation to assist equipment companies with research and development dollars to pursue the design of equipment recommended by the researchers. Without question, it is important to reach the children during these formative years of their lives. The objectives mentioned here, can best be achieved with a paid staff of employees, as well as volunteers. The long term goals of the DSYF will be, to add additional support type programs, as the need in the community presents itself.
